Can they please agree on what is a handball? Rules clearly states intent is required. Yet, the application of the rule seems mostly up to the ref. I mean, seriously, how can it be a handball against Japan for Italy's penalty? The ball rebounces and hit the arm of the Japanese player BEHIND him...
Yeah I agree and haven't they disallowed players stopping during their run up to ball during a penalty kick? I have seen others do it recently but I thought they ruled against it a while back?
This as well seems mostly up to the ref. I think you can't stop completley, but you can slow down... After, enforcing such a weird rule in live during a game... that's another story!
One of the best matches I've seen in ages. I've been following Japanese football for nearly 10 years now and to see them progress to the point where they can outplay Italy was such a joy. I think after that performance and their attacking intent even after scoring the equalizer, they would have converted a few neutral fans and hopefully be a team fans look out for at the world cup.
so lucky italy!!!!!!
Undeserved win for Italy japan plays better
