what? only Ronaldo´s wasnt a penalty (not to mention he missed the one on Neymar in the 1st half)
Whether the 1st Barca penalty was offside or not, if the linesman didnt signal and offside and Ramos made a fould being the last defender, it was a penalty and a red card. The only one at fault there is the linesman, the ref made the right choice considering he was never told there was an offside.
And the last penalty? Seriously? how is that not a penalty from Alonso, awful marking
Then you should really watch some replays, he clearly takes the other leg out. There was some over reacting from Neymar but it doesn't change a thing. He still took the attacker out as a last man so he gets a red card...
I agree. It's pretty sad when players get the slightest touch and fall over. It's ruining good games of football. How the slightest touch on Neymar's heel manages to make his whole body spin around and fall is beyond me. He should have been booked for diving.
3 non-existing penalties?? Xabi Alonso fouled Iniesta with both legs, it was a clear penalty imo. I also think the first penalty for Ronaldo was fair, Dani dragged that foot to catch Ronaldo on purpose.
The ref was strict, and Madrid paid the price because Barca is a much, much conservative team when it comes to fouls.
Covered the area?! There was a clear space Iniesta could've slipped trough but then Xabi comes in and blocks it out = foul. Textbook defending usually includes taking or clearing the ball away, not being clumsy and making a hot dog with a team mate.
And you make it seem like the ref only gives Real a red card because Barca is struggling.. it's not his fault Ramos takes Neymar out as the last man.
Xabi built a wall and clipped Iniesta down, if these plays were fair it'd be incredibly difficult to dribble inside the area and shake off a defender.
Busquets did something similar against Modric I believe in the midfield and it was a foul. As for Ramos' red, that could've been a red in any other match, both Ramos and Alves dragged their foot on purpose, slick, but not slick enough for a strict ref. I don't think these guys go into the game trying to help Barca, they're just strict and Madrid paid their price.
What a match! Benzema was incredible! Iniesta was brilliant!
When we were down 2-1 I thought Madrid had such a heavy momentum on their side, but Barca fought just an inch more than they did. Alves' foul on Ronaldo was a penalty, so was Ramos on Neymar, and Alonso's foul was just a clear penalty. Great to see Messi score a hattrick and set Iniesta up for that first foal.
Defensively Barca struggled with Madrid's crosses, thus highlighting again the importance of a good defender, Puyol is practically gone, they need another strong defender.
I would agree, but I think it was right over the line and it's basic karma for Barca's match at Eithad. Overall I think the ref did a good job for such an intense and physical game. He was strict, and strict for both sides..
Ramos clearly clipped Neymar, definite penalty and red. Also Ronaldo was clearly clipped, outside the box yes but it can still be given as a pen if the ref feels contact continued into the box. Tbh neither Madrid nor Barca can complain about the ref when all both teams do is try and cheat for tiny little advantages
the barca fans think the ref was great, the madrid fans not so much. everyone can agree CR7 penalty shouldnt have been, but only the barca fans think the other penalties were legit. but KrazyKom is right, when barca struggle, a player gets sent off and they get penalties. nothing new.
for the countless fouls given in the middle of the park for slight/no contact this match was just unwatchable. if this ref was in another league, EPL or German, there would be 22 red cards every week. another point, if its a foul on the halfway line, why is it not a foul in the penalty area for the same offense? #FcukLogic.
guess the only consolation is that Real are still above Barca. if barca win all their remaining matches, and Real madrid win all theirs, Real win the league. lol
You must be absolutely blind to think that isn't a foul. I'm neither a Barca or Madrid fan and I think the ref was good enough. The two Barca penalties were clear. The video above shows that and the foul on Iniesta was a legit sandwich and no challenge on the ball. Blame Sergio Ramos for being a clown and getting another red card. The ref was only doing his job.
Challenges inside the box are more punishable since that's where the best chances at goal are created. A minor foul doesn't have to be called on the half line since it might not really be affecting the game, but if that same light foul is preventing an opposing player from scoring a goal, it obviously has to be called.
way to miss the point i made earlier buddy. please read my comment again. or did you not see the match. the ref was blowing for minor touches on the halfway line as fouls but in the penalty area wasn't blowing for anything. unless of course it was in the madrid penalty area. as for the iniesta incident, even the commentators said they were surprised by the decision. i take it you think they don't watch enough football. LOLZ as for you saying you a neutral fan, not buying it. you sound way to aggro for a neutral ;)
"The video above shows that and the foul on Iniesta was a legit sandwich" - it was, but Alonso's left heel touches the ball away from Iniesta's path before the foul, so did he win the ball first? It's debatable.
And Neymar dived. Sorry dude but he dived. The smallest touch on his heel caused him to spin around and fall over. My ass. If you watched other sports involving a pitch and grown men you would realise that kind of contact does not cause people to fall over.
More evidence. How much more do you need? All evidence shows that the only mistake the referee made all game was awarding that penalty to Ronaldo. Doesn't matter what the commentators had to say as we now have all the proof. A challenge like that on Iniesta is a penalty any day.
Doesn't matter if you believe me or not. Me being a fan doesn't change the fact that only fools and Barca haters have been blind to the obvious. I'm actually a United supporter. Since Ronaldo left us, Iv'e always enjoyed Real Madrid. Way more than Barca. But I'm a fan of the sport before anything else. I'm forced to defend Barca in the name of the sport as the noise the people like you have been making is just absolutely ridiculous.
lol where did i say CR7 deserved a penalty? we were talking about the iniesta incident. but since you say thats the only mistake the referee made i take it you didnt see this
since when is getting stamped on your face a yellow card offence? or stamping on faces not punishable anymore?
the fact is the ref made mistakes for both teams. one team more than others. and in your previous comment you said you neutral, now you a barca fan suddenly. which is it? lol funny how you seem to be defending barca in the name of the sport but werent defending man city against barca in the name of the sport for the same offences. Hypocrite much? lol
I never said I was a fan...I said that even if I were a fan, it wouldn't change the fact that a foul is a foul. Me a Barca fan? Lol please. As i said: I support Manchester United.
About that stamp. I had no idea it even happened. It's actually the first I'm hearing of it. Did that really happen? Oh well. Pepe got the yellow card for going after Fabregas, all up in his face ready to fight like he always does. He's an animal. Even if that stamp to face is real, he still deserved the yellow for going after Fabregas the way he did which happened before, and led to him on the ground like that.
I didn't care enough for that Barca vs City game to come talk about it on a forum. Also, City were clearly outplayed over both legs. I only remember the referee getting one call wrong when Demichellis brought down Messi just outside the box and got a penalty. City were already 2 down on away goals and not playing very good. The wrong call had no real affect on the game so there wasn't anything to talk about. Konpany's goal was clearly offside too so a bad call for a bad call.
Anyways. It all boils down to the penalty calls and the red card. Iv'e already provided the evidence for all you biased fans, so there's really nothing else for me to offer here.
i used to be a man u fan.. then i witness the 2009 Man U vs. Barca massacre. Barca practically played around with ManU like how cat plays with a rat.. it was so embarrassing. i mean i know these kind of things happen but not during the UEFA finals. i loved Messi and i still do but when he scored against ManU, i was really pissed off with him.
Anyways... two years later Barca repeated the massacre.
I think you have to give Barca the first penalty since Ronaldo's was outside of the box,It just evened out the game. but as a Madrid fan the red card is still making me feel sick, it just killed a brilliant game and gave the win to Barca, the second penalty is also wrong I think.
Same story with the Arsenal - Bayern game. The last man rule kills great games of football. A penalty and a yellow is enough if its in the box. A red would be understandable if it was outside the box, as a free kick isn't exactly a goalscoring opportunity.
What a match... Didn't expect Barca to win but damn this game was intense when Benzema scored his second I thought Madrid had the game. Just wow.
What a game. Had everything you would expect from a Classico. Great goals, plenty of yellows, at least one red... and lots of diving and playacting.
Ref was shit all 3 was not pen and neymar was offside first half was perfect players and the ref second half ref destroyed everything
Ramos is a clown and the referee got played way too many times.
Ramos shouldn't have got in to that situation period, but the contact was minimal if not nothing at all.
3 teams within 1 point at the summit of La Liga though, best league in the world!
Didn't watch the first half. But from seeing the second half the ref was utter shit. 3 non-existing penalties.
And as always when barcelona struggle to win a match, the opposition get a player sent off. utter rubbish....
Either way the league is bound to be more exiting now.
