Brazilian referee quartered and beheaded by fans after killing a player

One man has been arrested on suspicion of decapitating a referee at an amateur football match in Brazil.
The referee was supposedly quartered and then had his head cut off before it was stuck on a stake.
This shocking act of violence was in retaliation after he 'stabbed' one of the players on the pitch in the Pius XII stadium, Maranhao.

tkato4106d ago

They are mad about hosting the next world cup while the citizens are starving and taxes keep rising.
I'm not surprised.

Seriously though do they think its the 15th century still?

allgamespc20124106d ago

i concur to a certain point. acts of violence like this are barbaric and only the dirty brasucas from the favelas do it. however, there is a situation in brazil that should not be ignored and thats why the people are revolting.

USA should have hosted the World Cup or Japan, Germany, UK.

Mikefizzled4106d ago

Japan co-hosted 12 years ago,
Germany hosted 8 years ago,
USA don't know what football actually is.
UK is the only reasonable choice in your arguement.

dennett3164106d ago

The US hosted the World Cup in 1994, and their league is actually at a pretty decent standard now, with players like Thierry Henry plying their trade there. They would be a reasonable choice, just like Germany or Japan. I'd love the UK to get it as I live there, but there's nothing wrong with any of those locations.

England's national team sucks arse and their future doesn't look bright at all

kingPoS4106d ago

This sounds like a really bad joke gone wrong. I'm having a hard time believing all that actually happened.

SilentNegotiator4105d ago

It sounds like a Monty Python joke that would be set to a cartoon.

Boycott and suspend Brazil from international football for 30 years. Culture like this belongs to ancient times. Force the government to learn from other countries how to create somewhat normal citizens. Yes, it will take time, but it`s worth it.

barb_wire4106d ago

There is no way FIFA would ban Brazil - NONE.. of course had this happened in Africa or even Europe for that matter, FIFA would have no problem banning the team.

delicia4106d ago

It was an amateur match, like street football, nothing to do with FIFA.
