'La Liga is boring' - Simeone slams Barca & Madrid domination

The Atletico Madrid coach was scathing in how he sees the season panning out and reiterated that the distribution of TV money must change

The story is too old to be commented.

Been saying it for years, a two horse race every season is boring ass hell. Barcelona and Real every season and the supporters of both act as if it some accomplishment to be on the top of the table. I'm like who else is worth mentioning....exactly. I'm a fan of the EPL cause of the fact that there are at lease six teams that could make the top four. IDK that's just me...

The PL is more competitive because of the wealthy owners who bought certain clubs. It would be no different if it had of happened in any other league. The PL is more exciting because at least 3 of the top teams can spend mega money, with the next 3 able to spend a good amount of money. Real and Barca are the only clubs in La Liga who can flaunt the cash.

@asmith2306- That's not the only reason the PL is more competitive, money is distributed evenly here so even without wealthy owners buying clubs the PL would still be fairer than LA Liga where Madrid and Barca negotiate their own deals and take a massive cut of the money ( and this is still while ignoring Madrid's help from the government)

Simeone sounds bitter...the league could improve but it isn't BORING.

Maybe you have to be Spanish, but the only La Liga fixtures that interest me and anyone else outside the country it seems are Madrid v Barca ones. There are other derbies but they never seem well popularised outside the country.

But then you look at the Premier League and see the huge Manchester derby now, the historic Liverpool derby, and the big London teams battling it out between themselves and the Manchester clubs....

Every week the Premier League seems to have an exciting or interesting game on for me but La Liga.....doesn't.

The teams in the Premier League are much closer together and even the smaller clubs now have the cash to make big signings because the money is shared.

You only even have to look at Southampton who bought Ramirez, Wanyama and Osvaldo to see that with players like that they can compete.

To be popular is one thing, but to deliver good matches is another. Two big names don't absolutely guarantee a better match than one with two lesser known teams. So my arguement is not the same old tired one of which league is more entertaining, because yes, the EPL has closer competition. However, La liga is not boring at all if you're willing to actually watch some matches instead of assuming that they're boring.

Unfortunately I have watched many La Liga matches and haven't been as entertained as the premier league or Bundesliga. So many lack that big occasion feel and atmosphere.

The particular comment was based around was the Barca win, and even from the start the atmosphere in the stadium was as flat as a pancake. I guess that is what happens when you have so many OOT.

That and the extreme decline we have seen in attendance of La Liga. If the Spaniards themselves aren't going to watch the games live why would anyone else outside the country tune in on the TV??

People say that the EPL is a two horse race. Though that may be true, the top 2 aren't 20+ ahead of the rest at the end of the season like in La Liga. Although the same teams might end up in the top 4, the competition is much closer and there is always hope at the end.

What I find boring is all the weak humans playing there. Often I see that they are severely hurt if someone barely touch the players.
