united are just crumbling its unbelievable. moyes just sat there and watched it happen. inactive. its like he was thinking "if i do nothing, nothing can go wrong" seriously, make some substitutions that would be effective. throw on players that will add to the game. Afro-head over there was waaaaaayyyyy to slow for the entire 90mins. he should move back to everton.
on the other hand, liverpool completely outplayed united. i think this is probably one of the easiest matches they played against united in a while. well done to them. if city/chelsea slip up, liverpool could actually win the league.
Could easily have been more. I think it's been well established by now that playing Mata and 2 strikers is akin to suicide but Moyes just sits there with that stupid gormless grin on his face. RVP may be the one to go as he doesn't really seem too bothered. Love watching Liverpool play, if they keep their players they will light up the champions league next year!
Dissapointing result and a shocking number of penalties/should-be penalties (Sturridge blatantly dived but Carrick's foul was a penalty so that evens it up)
Neither team looked like scoring from open play until United went down to 10 men. Without the penaltys (and sending off) this would have ended 0-0 most likely as both teams didn't want to make mistakes.. Once United went down to 10 men though Liverpool exposed that hole in the back and scored. Gerrard should have been sent off though for a clear elbow but was a lucky boy..
@Gamer1982 at last someone who watched the game rather than the score line. Even the LiverpoolSkySports1 pundit team did not watch the game right. Liverpool were the better team and deserved the win in the end but I don't remember any keeper being troubled until United went down to 10 men.
Liverpool are playing some nice football under Brendon Rodgers but he needs a few players before they can look to win the league as City and Chelsea's squad is stronger at this moment in time.
As for United I still don't blame Moyes. Yes he did not make a sub but can anyone tell me who United had on the bench that could of changed the game in United favour? The 11 we stared with was the best starting 11 United have got and this is what Moyes needs to work around come the summer. Yes United will not finish in the top 4 and could finish 7th but its one season. People seem to forget Liverpool finished 7th last season but are in the top 4 now. For me I will judge Moyes on next season as this summer is when the real work starts for him as he now know who is and is not good enough to Play for United. We don't need a drastic change as people seem to keep saying but we do need to being in some new faces as well as give the young players time to replace the out going players.
As an outsider of the title race this season I think its going to be interesting to see who finish to the league I am still betting on Chelsea to pip City to the league just because of what there manager brings to the team. with city a very close 2nd and I think it will be a good fight between 3rd and 4th for the Gunners and Liverpool who I think will finish 6 points behind the winners.
One thing that was good to see yesterday at Old Trafford was the United fans backing the team in the last 10 mins of the game. Its good to see OT loud when the team is not doing well and I really hope this can make the players come out and put in a descent shift on Wednesday night. Even if we don't go through seeing the players show the fans they are working hard for them and to show Moyes that we do have the right players we just need to add to the Squad.
@Sahil I also have to disagree with you on the "You sound like a closet united fan" Just because you support a team dose not mean you have to be blind to the game. I am a United fan and always have been but I don't treat it like its a matter of life and death its a game and watching other teams as well as your own is also enjoyable esp if its a good game.
I do under stand a lot of people are self centred when it comes to football but come on grow up its a game if your side win lose or draw support them but don't bother wasting your time trolling other peoples comments it really is pointless.
That said looking forward to seeing City VS Liverpool should be a good game.
Rafael should have seen a second yellow for the hand ball that gifted the first penalty as well. You can go on all day about this decision and that, but truth is, Liverpool deserved. Utd were hopeless. 3/4 penalties were penalties, can't dispute that.
Well.. There's always next year.. :L
Penalty galore... Lots of blood for a football match aswell.
We are coming up the hill.
Moyes must go. Didn't make any changes. Doesn't show any emotion. The players don't respect or respond to him and I don't think he's got what it takes
