Roy Hodgson is hoping for a big performance from Wayne Rooney in England's crunch Group D match against Uruguay on Thursday.
Rooney's place in the England team has come under scrutiny recently after a number of indifferent displays, the latest of which came in the 2-1 defeat to Italy in Manaus. Hodgson refused to agree with the idea that Rooney is an "exceptional" player during England's FIFA World Cup™ training camp in Miami.
