Jozy Altidore made the best possible decision for his career when he exited English Premier League side Sunderland on January 16.
There is no doubt the United States international needed to leave Wearside in order to get playing time, but there were some questions about his landing spot.
He had a good thing going in the Netherlands. From 2008-2011 he only scored three goals playing in La Liga, the EPL, and the Super Liga. All formidable leagues yet he could not perform, sure you could say he was a young player and thats a valid point to make. Yet he really hit his stride playing for AZ, the Eredevisie turned out to be the perfect league for him.
More so during his time there AZ was consistently qualifying for the Europa League too. In the end he dismissed all of that for a grand move to...Sunderland with one goal in 42 appearances.
