The Coca-Cola Championship has retained its place as the fourth most watched league in Europe ahead of Italy and France’s top flights, it was revealed today.
Only Germany’s Bundesliga (13.1m), the Premier League (12.9m) and Spain’s La Liga (11.0m) can boast more fans through the turnstiles, with The Football League’s top division attracting more supporters than Italy’s Serie A (9.1m) and France’s Ligue 1 (7.6m).
Crowds at Championship matches grew by 0.3% in 2009-10, averaging 17,949 and attracting a total audience of over 9.9m.
Sure, they have Barca and Madrid but what else? This is the reason why I hate the spanish League. For intense, this season Barcelona and Madrid made 99 and 96 point, people say is historic but check the stats for the teams. Most of the other teams are just playing for third place and other to stay in the league. Most of the other teams cant afford players like villa, Xavi, etc. This league is garbage, I used to watch it a looong time ago, but now I watch the Premiere League. Fifa should put a limit to what the teams can spend and see how those teams do without some of the best players in the world.
