Injured England defender Rio Ferdinand has stated he was happy to travel and inspire children in South Africa despite being ruled out of the World Cup.
The Manchester United defender was set to skipper the Three Lions before damaging his knee in training on Friday. He travelled with the squad to watch the 3-0 warm-up win against the Platinum Stars.
