Cagliari fined over racist abuse of Inter striker Samuel Eto'o
Racist chants against Inter striker Samuel Eto'o have resulted in a €25,000 fine for Cagliari, Italy's football disciplinary panel confirmed on Tuesday.
A statement reads: "The sport's judge has decided to fine Cagliari €25,000 after their fans directed racist abuse at Inter striker Samuel Eto'o."
Inter won the game thanks to Eto'o's strike, but it could have been so different after referee Paolo Tagliavento stopped the game and threatened to abandon the affair following the chants.
For their part Cagliari did not welcome the fine, claiming their fans' chants were not directed at particular players.
The find is a joke. Or they should do nothing, just a warning- or they should give a fee that means hurts. 25 000 is just as little as nobody could care less in the world of top International football.
