Chelsea Hoping To Lure Barcelona Coach Pep Guardiola To Stamford Bridge Next Season

Reports from Spain suggest that Premier League side Chelsea are desperate to lure Barcelona coach Pep Guardiola to Stamford Bridge for next season.

AS comments that Russian billionaire Roman Abramovich has taken the decision to bring the Blaugrana tactician to English football in place of Carlo Ancelotti, and with Guardiola currently only committed to a rolling contract year-on-year at the Catalan giants, the lure of a fresh long-term project in London may be attractive.

Guardiola was left disillusioned at the start of the season by the sale of central defender Dmytro Chyrgynskiy by new president Sandro Rosell, who claimed that the Ukrainian’s departure was a financial necessity, and the off-field issues regarding the activities of former incumbent Joan Laporta remain a genuine cause for concern to the 39-year-old.

The story is too old to be commented.
