Hapoel Halt Schalke

Hapoel Tel Aviv and Schalke were both lacking in creativity as they saw out an uneventful 0-0 draw at the Bloomfield Stadium. The draw gives Hapoel their first point in the Champions League this year while Schalke remain in second place, a point clear of Benfica.

From the early stages the game proved to be very different to the one Schalke had dominated a fortnight ago at Veltins-Arena. Both sides saw plenty of the ball yet clear chances were few and far between.

The first opportunity fell to the home side on 29 minutes. The impressive Toto Tamuz clipped a ball into the box which was flicked on by Ben Sahar to Eran Zahavi. The Israel international smashed the ball from 10 yards but Manuel Neuer managed to use his legs to deflect the ball clear.

The story is too old to be commented.
