Controversial referee Dougie McDonald back in the spotlight at Falkirk v Ross County

Dougie McDonald will take charge of a match on Saturday afternoon for the first time since he triggered a storm of controversy over the penalty he awarded to Celtic and then rescinded at Tannadice on Oct 17.

But he found himself once more in the glare of unwanted publicity when the Parkhead club released a statement on the affair on Friday.

McDonald will be in action at Saturday's Falkirk v Ross County match in the Scottish Football League first division, but has not been chosen to officiate at an SPL game since his appearance at Tannadice and he is not on the list for the full card of fixtures to be played next week.
