It was revealed this week that Terry, who missed the 3-0 defeat to Sunderland at the weekend, could be out for months due to a nerve problem in his right leg and he was ruled out of England's friendly defeat to France on Wednesday.
Terry has now said he was capable of playing on but, having reconsidered the importance of his health, he now feels the issue needs to be resolved before he plays on.
