Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson has admitted that he expects this season to be Edwin van der Sar's swansong.
The Dutchman turned 40 years old in October, but is yet to announce his decision as to whether or not he intends to hang up his gloves.
However, the Scot believes that the shot-stopper is likely to call it a day after the end of this season, to be with his wife - who suffered a serious illness last year.
"I have come to accept this will be Edwin's last season," Ferguson told The People.
United just sign a new goalkeeper from Denmark (Lindegaard). Maybe the new Peter Schmeichel?
