D.C. United declined options on defenders Barry Rice and Juan Manuel Pena, and midfielders Brandon Barklage and Carlos Varela for the 2011 season on Thursday.
Rice appeared in two Major League Soccer matches and three U.S. Open Cup games and Juan Manuel Pena, who enjoyed a long career in Spain, was limited to just 10 games because of injury last season.
