UEFA have decided to lessen the severity of the punishment they imposed on Real Madrid for their improper conduct against Ajax in the Champions League.
European football's governing body had initially slapped coach Jose Mourinho with a two-game suspension and a €40,000 fine for his involvement in the red card fiasco at the Amsterdam ArenA.
Xabi Alonso and Sergio Ramos intentionally picked up red cards late in the game in the 4-0 win with the midfielder first being sent off and then the defender picking up a second yellow card for wasting time.
