Moyes: Lowly Wigan deserve more credit

Everton manager David Moyes insists his side will not be underestimating Wigan when the two teams meet at Goodison Park on Saturday.

Despite their lowly league position, Moyes believes people should be giving Roberto Martinez's side more credit.

"I think Wigan have got a good team. I think that maybe because they don't have a massive crowd then it's quite an easy thing to say they might be at the bottom," Moyes said.

"I think they've got some great players and they're playing with a decent style."

"We don't take anyone lightly, especially because our home form at Goodison is poor. So we certainly won't be taking Wigan lightly, that's for sure."

Speaking on Everton's form at Goodison Park, which shows just two league wins all season, Moyes is disappointed that his team have not been converting chances into goals.

"We haven't played well enough in home games," Moyes said.

"Some we've played okay but couldn't score and that's just poor. We're trying to get the players to work that little bit harder and be a little bit more composed in front of goal."

"We have to try and make more chances to score and hopefully they'll come for us."
