If he's good enough then age is irrelevant. No one bat an eyelid when we paid £25 million for Rooney at 18. People are only skeptical about De Gea because they haven't seen him play.

Iker Casillas got into the Madrid team at 20 and kept his position ever since. We should always have trust in the youth, it's our way.

I agree with you Zootang, But id have like to have seen an older keeper have been brought in aswell maybe with a few years experence on his shoulders that had been round the block a few more times. Just to give De Gea some more time to mature into the player his potental is hyped to be.

I know he has done well in spain but the Premier league is a different animal and tbh the english press are aswell.

Hes young if he makes a mistake how will he handle the English tabloids. I know Fergie is good at shielding are players thats always been a strong point for united lads.

But an older keeper could have taken the flak while De Gea got a few seasons under his belt.
