Sky Sports sources understand Arsenal have now renewed their interest in Everton midfielder Mikel Arteta.
It was earlier on Wednesday reported the Gunners were lining up a £10million bid for the Spaniard, but it then emerged Arsene Wenger had given up his interest.
However, in another twist, Arsenal are back in discussions with Everton as they seek to land Arteta as a replacement for Cesc Fabregas.
