January Transfer Window: Predicting the Price for the 25 Most-Coveted Players

BR - The January transfer window is one of the most important and interesting periods in the season where the managers analyze their positions at the end of the first half of the season. They have to assess their strengths and weaknesses and identify the players who could give them the impetus to achieve their targets at the end of the season. Though many good players do not move in January, it is important for the manager to be able to persuade players to join their clubs in January and convince them of their ambitions for the future.

I read somewhere months ago that his buyout clause was £80mill! + alot of these are wrong predictions, modric 35mill? chelsea bid 40mil but were turned down!

Modric was probably told he can go this summer though as part of the deal to keep him there last summer and keep him quiet. Doubt he will go this January though.

I think Manchester United should take Gotze and Hummels for around 50m combined. This would be a good long term investment, both are young and classy. However i doubt immensely the owners would release the money for a bold move like that, and United probably won't sign anyone this January.

I just think with Ferguson leaving sooner rather than later i would want to see young guys come in, not players that will be past their best just as he quits. Sneijder is not old at 27, but he isn't young either. Someone like Gotze could be at United for more than a decade at his best, Sneijder maybe has 5 years tops. I know Sneijder is the finished article but that also means he can't be moulded to fit a purpose as easily as the young german alternative. Gotze is exceptionally versatile.

Course Hulk isn't worth anything like 50m, maybe half that even to a club like Man City whose transfers are usually inflated.

Drogba can't really be worth 7m either surely. The guy is nearly 34 and his contract is finished in 6 months and on a free! Quality player as he was and good as he still is, Chelsea probably wouldn't be convinced to sell unless they bring someone else in. They need him more than they need any money and can replace him in the summer.
