Liverpool striker Luis Suarez has apologized after refusing to shake Patrice Evra's hand in yesterday's Premier League match against Manchester United at Old Trafford.
Does it matter, the club accepts what its player and manager did was wrong. Lets move on from this, football and sportsmanship has been dragged through enough dirt.
... I would have ignored Evra's hand as well, if he had scammed me into an 8 match ban.
You saw Evra provoking him again yesterday, first by lowering his hand and after the match by celebrating in front of Suarez. Suarez just focussed on the match and did what he had to do.
It's sad that Suarez is forced to apologize due to public pressure, after first having to accept an 8 match ban in order to avoid risking an even longer ban, over a cultural misunderstanding over the term 'negro' which has been milked for all it's worth by Man Utd and Evra.
Yet Terry's racism case will be handled after the European Cup(!)
its a bit late for that i think they're rep has already been tarnished and so has dalglish's but a hand shake at the next game would probably be the best thing for everyone
i'm sure alot of lfc fans will still defend the guy tho
At least with hindsight he understood it was wrong.
Hope they will shake hands next game Liverpool does not need bad publicity because of one player.
