Well I read somewhere else that it's 108m but then Tottenham will buy one player from Madrid for like 17m (sorry, I'm bad with names). So the net price is more like 91m.

Still, not saying it isn't crazy or anything.

Yeah let's change everything (time of the competition, timing for the qualifications, regular seasons, etc) just so that we can have a World Cup in Quatar...

Why weren't these concerns taken into account when they awarded the tournament?

Come on Fifa, just admit you made a mistake (or, more likely, got bribed) and give the world cup to the country who was supposed to get it: USA (note: I'm Swiss, so no bias here).

Yeah cause it's better for football if all the good players are in the same league, right?

Well if Paris (and Monaco) keep adding players like him, the Ligue 1 won't be as uninteresting anymore!

We pretty much all do (except if you're Italian of course). I can't wait to see this Brazil against the team that has dominated soccer for the last 5 years.

They won the oceanic tournament. They won the right to be there fair and square. Sure it's a weaker confederation, but they still won.

Just appreciate how awesome it must be for these players. Look after the game, they were happy.

This as well seems mostly up to the ref. I think you can't stop completley, but you can slow down... After, enforcing such a weird rule in live during a game... that's another story!

Can they please agree on what is a handball? Rules clearly states intent is required. Yet, the application of the rule seems mostly up to the ref. I mean, seriously, how can it be a handball against Japan for Italy's penalty? The ball rebounces and hit the arm of the Japanese player BEHIND him...

Vulcan is the bigger troll on this site (as well as others). If someone could takes his bubblu away that would be so great.

Yeah I kinda agree. I know it's not the rule,s but it should be. Although, in this case, the four Dortmund players being offside at the beginning of the play are really offside, no excuse there.

lol

For the second Malaga goal, Eliseu is really stupid to kick the ball since it was going in anyway. Taking the chance to be offside (and he was) for no reason.

On the last Dortumund goal, this is brutal. 4 players offside at the beginning, then one more offside from Augusto (he's closer to the goal's line than the second last opponent, in this case the goalie). How can this even happen at that level?

I'm very happy for Dortumun...

Good draw for Montenegro. If they can tie again next time they face England, they might force them to a play-off by taking first place.

And let's not forget that being second is scary. First of all, the worst 2nd is eliminated. Secondly, you could potentially face France, Portugal or Croatia to name only a few.

I'm so tired of the whiny United players and fans. Get over it! It was a harsh red card sure, but it's not like there was absolutely nothing to warrant a red.

Also, it was 1-0 United at that point. Step up and hold for 30 minutes. United lost not because of this red card, but because a) they collapsed b) over the two games, they missed like 5-6 easy goals.

Don't try to argue with Vulcan. He's not here for that. He's always here to write novels about what he thinks. Especially when it has to do with teams from England.

On topic : red card is harch but if United was really the best team, they should have been able to defend. At 1:0 United was just gonna defend anyway. Doesn't matter much to be one attacker down. If anything great teams step up when facing injustice. They don't collapse in 2 minutes.

How can you be against? It'll tell us right away if the ball crossed the line or not. It won't slow down the game like when they do video review in american football or hockey. I don't see a single reason as to why we would rather not now and/or not allow a valid goal like the Lampard one in the WC2010.

4083d ago 0 agree1 disagreeView comment

Yeah I can't believe the ref didn't see the handball. Or maybe he saw but thought it was involuntary. Which is hard to justify when you have both arms up in the air.

4083d ago 0 agree1 disagreeView comment

That was impressive from Milan, way more than what Chelsea did last year. Chelsea won because Barcelona missed all their chances (including a penalty by Messi), while Milan managed to shut Barcelona out completely.

Of course, the first goal shouldn't count with the hand ball.

Yeah, a lot of the dinosaurs that are at the head of football are still against any form of technology. Platini literally said that whether the ball crossed the line or not is to the interpretation of the human referee... what a joke.

Now that goal line technology is there, I just want some sort of video review (like what they do in rugby where it doesn't take 10 minutes) and suspensions after game for heavy simulation/faking.

lol Team B of Dortmund (lredu qualified and first), beating the almost-team A of Manchester City. Crazy.

I guess City didn't want to gain this so-called "European experience" in the Europa League...

4161d ago 3 agree0 disagreeView comment

The entire team should be suspended. It's a complete disgrace what they did. And then the coach is ordering them to give a goal and they don't? I hope they get trashed in the round of 16.
