I personally think Salah is better but he wasn't going to get into the first team so I understand why he went
I don't think a player with Ronaldo and Messi's abilities combined could win a world cup with that Portugal side. Maybe 10 or so years ago when Figo and Deco were there. For me these two are the greatest ever players regardless of which one you prefer.
I can't get Messi to leave Barca, Offered him £1,467,344 a week and he turned me down.
As a big fan of Ronaldo it really does annoy me whenever I see this argument put forward like people expect him to do anything with that shit Portugal side, I'd already say he's punching well above his weight with what he's done for them so far. If he was at a team that had a chance I'd understand the criticism but unfortunately he's not spanish, german, dutch, brazilian etc.. And he was injured from April up to early August.
I can understand being intimidated by going to Madrid and trying to break into such a strong starting 11, but to go to Arsenal and achieve nothing each year is a waste.
I think his obsession is more to be the best he can be in every game rather than worrying about records, although I do think it will bother him being within touching distance and not managing to get it while he can, because Messi has 2 years on him to get more.
Only 29 as well i think, plenty years ahead of him. Fair play to him
And so it should be. Every player has moments where they peak for a while and people say they are the same level as these two, but nobody has been able to maintain such an impossibly high level of performance every season, I personally hope Ronaldo wins it but if it didn't go to either of them i'd be disgusted. It offends me that anyone else even gets considered.
Messi still looks absolutely lethal and loves to score against Madrid. Real need the points more though so hopefully they get the win through any goalscorer.
I honestly feel Ronaldo's assists would be better if Benzema could finish a wank sometimes
It's 3 pens from the last 9 goals actually, which even taken away are 6 in 4 games.
I would have thought he left ( Justifiably ) after having Bale come in and threaten his role and leave him on the bench,so he ends up adapting to a new central role, playing his best ever season and being integral to the teams success, only to see James signed and him ending up on the bench again, pretty harsh from Madrid and disrespectful to Di Maria I feel.
when they played him in a central role last season it was easily his best year yet, the amount of work he does on and off the ball should make this a no brainer, keep him!!
*Sigh* You and asmith2306...Should he not be delighted to score in a Champions League final and increase his record breaking CL tally for the season in front of his countryman. I agree his goal was pretty redundant given the score and he had a shite game but how do you not celebrate scoring in the CL final and going down in the history of La Decima!
I think when Madrid slipped up against Valladolid Ancelotti conceded the title never expecting Atletico and Barca to drop points again this weekend so he played a weakened side resting Ronaldo, Di Maria, Benzema, Bale,Varane and Carvajal for the champions league.
To spend on what? How is this going to change his life from what he's being paid now? Footballers in general are dickheads when it comes to finances.
C'mon Levante!!!
I kinda hate Dani Alves but that's a disgusting thing to do to somebody and I'm glad he handled it like an absolute legend.
I'm honestly not having a go here but is there any way you can explain to me why you don't care that your team plays boring, negative football? A couple of my mates are Chelsea fans too and they have the same mentality and I just don't understand it.
That's not petty or unprofessional at all. Why is Ronaldo under his skin? They haven't interacted in like 4 years I think? Barr the time Madrid slaughtered Bayern in the Semi finals a couple years ago.
