Idea 1: I have noticed lately how flooded the pending section has become, always 80+ submissions and most of them 3 approvals from one member or something. I'm guessing the best way to solve this problem is to tell Cat to include a "Manager of the month" contest for next month like another newsboiler website has been doing (and it's working perfectly) by doing so members will be encouraged to report/approve stories and will be disqualified from the contest (no_more_heroes' idea!) if they approve/report randomly without checking.
Idea 2: Make a blog about tags. (I.e: Request tags to be included on the website and let moderators add them) One of the most annoying thing about submitting a story here is not finding the tags for the stories' contents and end up with a story with not the required tags.
Idea 3: USE the share feature to get more members. I have stumbled on a trick recently to get high degrees for a submission fast! (Tweet it). I have noticed how some of my shared submissions has led to lots of retweets and making some tweeps be awared of this website and join it. It was discussed in blog's Mezzo that the solution is simple, keep the sharing feature but 'fix' the trick!
Idea 4: A Major Prize every 3 or so months. I remember when 11x2 offered a PS3 and 1 game as a prize (If I remember well, FootballZilla won it), the competition was immense and I really mean immense + with littls ads for this prize, it will attract lots of new members who want to get involved in the competition

I think first 11x2 needs a at least one new mod which will help with the approving and reporting as of now only users do this.
Yes they are a lot of players and clubs without tags, i think what should be done is when your submitting a story and you don't find the tags needed you should be able to add the tag and a mod would approve the tags daily.
As for big prizes it hard because im sure 11x2 has a budget for prizes and offering a ps3 or xbox would be a huge cut of that budget maybe do one every december. 11x2 did offer a xbox and ps3 and me and mezzo won it - http://11x2.com/user/blogpo... but that was right at the beginning of 11x2 to get more members.

When i approve submissions i do throughly check them, sometimes people may spot something that slipped out my eye so i will now be triple checking each submission from now on ;)

I think the contests need to be changed up a little bit. It feels like everyone is just racing to submit new things lol. There should be less "grinding" in these contests so that there is actually more fun in doing them. If I come up with ideas I'll post them.
Also I don't know if it's true for other people but when I start approving articles, after 5 or so the website starts to become really laggy and I would have to wait forever for the webpage to load so I stopped approving a while ago as it just became very frustrating.
And yes, there should be a feature to add tags.
At the time of writing this comment I had just finished writing a Bank Account management program in Java that manages a bank's list of customer accounts. Meaning, creating new accounts by entering the customer's details (name, address, creating an account number, initial balance), being able to deposit and withdraw from that account, displaying current customers and deleting accounts (while still being able to display those deleted accounts in a separate database.
...yeah, I pretty much have Haemolacria right now. I've had to listen to my 3DS camera application's background music just to keep me calm @_@. Haven't had as much time over the past few days to really sift through the site properly (only sporadically and, admittedly, erroneously).
About the article tweeting, here's what I think can be done:
1. Make it like the approval system.
One tweet, +1 or like button click is counted the same as a whole article submission on 11x2, even if you click all three buttons in the same article. Since you're essentially "submitting" that article to three different sites, it is counted as three different article submissions on 11x2 itself would be. Like 11x2, for every 5 "share" buttons you click on your own articles, you have to click 3 "share" buttons of another persons articles (whether it be all three in one article, two different buttons in one article and one in another, one of any three buttons in any three articles not your own, etc.). You can "share" up to 50 articles every 24hrs. The share buttons are only available for clicking once the article has been approved on 11x2. Thereafter, there is only a 48hr window to click them, after which they are disabled for that article.
2. Change how the temperature is calculated.
Have the temperature algorithm tweaked to accommodate the extra traffic so that it takes at least twice as long to heat up. I mentioned before that a TechSpy article reached 6920 degrees, but you only get a maximum of 1000 points for temperature, which you get from the article reaching 1000 degrees of course. It needs to be much harder to reach that 1000 degrees and beyond.
Best way to make 11x2 better is to ban all these BR and goal articles. They clutter the shit out of the site and no one reads them because they're all fictional or speculation articles meant for hits. Also, if you're gonna post highlights, please post all the goals!
