The Spain international striker's switch to Stamford Bridge was tied up less than 24 hours after he helped eliminate the Blues at the Champions League semi-final stage
money is part of it but its not 100% only about that.
chelsea won nothing this year, true. but whats their squad like? no world-class strikers. so he is needed. also he moving to chelsea will still be in european football next season. he could still win his double this season coz he only moving after season over.
you talking like he taking offers and moving to a league thats not competitive, where he wont mind whether he plays or not. like the club has no big ambitions long term. you look at messi at barca asking for 380+ a week. he's not going anywhere but is he not a money player? barca won nothing this year. is Bale not a money player? did he only move to real for the money? and if he went their to win trophies, surely real couldve got him for less no?
Fair points, just sick of seeing talents getting taken from teams the second they "come good".
How many strikers have Atlético lost in 10 years? Torres, Aguero, Falcao and now Costa.
Don't have a problem with Deigo at Atlético, nor him making problems for Real. Competition is good and makes La Liga look better too. Hope Atlético can get a great replacement that wants to be loyal for more than a few years.
Well its important to remember this man switched national allegiances - so going to another club so soon only speak to his mentality, for better or worse.
"Chelsea are set to hand the 25-year-old a five-year contract worth £150,000 a week."
That is triple his wages now!
Ridiculous!
Welcome to the Premier League Diego Costa!
Wow, sucks for Athletico..
This is so sad and dissapointing, if true
Welcome to the strikers graveyard!
More mercenaries. Do chelsea actually scout n train home grown talent anymore.
