Manchester United will face Real Madrird in the last-16 of the Champions League, Arsenal will travel to Bayern, while Celtic have been handed a tie against Italian champions Juventus.
If United played Madrid right now, they would win. Madrid's form and motivation are really poor. Their defence is highly vulnerable. There would be a bunch of goals but United would take it.
However Madrid have got 2 months to get back in form. It'll surely be more difficult by then.
what a draw this year! I like both United and Madrid and it's really sad to see 1 has to go home so early! damn Galatasaray got it easy and they were 2nd in the group!
Arsenal have little hope against anyone they are drawn anyway :-/ only Malaga realistically would give Arsenal a chance. Munich will walk over Arsenal no problems. Especially away from home in europe Arsenal are hugely shaky and only got through their group because of how weak it was.
Schalke won it, and they are in 7th in the Bundesliga! Munich are already running away with the title.
Arsenal can buy in January but any top quality they manage to buy will no doubt be cup tied in the Champions League.
What an amazing draw for Arsenal and Man. United. Arsenal need a CDM and I hope Diaby is back in February. Another striker may be needed as well since we don't know how the Walcott situation will end. Injuries may play a role too......Oddly enough I don't feel that nervous as I thought I would. I was fearing Dortmund more than even Barca this time. Man. United IMO has a equally or even tougher match. They need to do something about that defense and maybe reinforce the midfield......Upfront they should be fine against any team.
Looking forward to Juve and Celtic too. That Real and Utd tie will be a close one to call but I can see Utd doing it. Madrid aren't at their best lately.
Celtic vs Juve 2001 was one of the all-time classic Champions League matches which Celtic ended up winning 4-3; Trezegue, Del Piero, Davids, Larrson, Lennon... What a game (pity the away fixture ended up 3-2, after some dubious decisions by the ref in favour of the Italians, and in-turn Celtic just missed qualifaction out of their group)!
I remember it well, I am a big Juve fan and I watched both games in a friends house who are all big Celtic supporters. The game in parkhead was an absolute cracker and I will never forgot Nicola Amoruso with the best dive ever in the return at the delle Alpi! Martin O'Neills interview after the game was great too: "it's, it's shocking!" Classic interview.
well as a real and united fan, i wouldn't mind if Ronaldo did the damage. he is a legend after all.
as for coming to haunt us, not really. we loved him and it was hard to let him go. haunting implies we chased him out coz we didn't think he was performing at the united level and now he has a point to prove to united fans.
Yeah, CR7 went out in style and has alot of love for Manchester United. I don't think he will be haunting anyone to be honest. I can't wait for this match, it's going to be EPIC!
Wow, United vs. Real Madrid, that matchup probably saved other teams a lot of trouble, seeing as they're 2 of the main contenders for the title. Great end of the year present for football fans.
Ronaldo finally returns to Old Trafford!
both Madrid and man united are f*****
My thought process:
Arsenal vs Ba...
"I fuh qing knew it!"
..yern Munich
"See? I fu...wait, what?"

I'm reading also that this draw was also the exact same as the rehearsal draw the day before.
Holy coincidences, Batman!
...or is it?
