There was contact but Young made the contact with the dive, so fair play to the ref. It's great to see them taking more notice of players diving nowadays.
hard to classify that one... there was clear contact(so no dive, he was tripped), but going down so easy and so dramatically made it look like a dive (like he already knew he's going to ground before touching the ball, he was just waiting for some contact). if that makes sense. it wasnt a penalty (although some refs might have given it), but i don't think he shouldve got a yellow card for it.

I dont get why we are going after Di Maria... if we are playing a 3 back there is no place for the winger.... United should be strengthening their core with ridiculous offers for hummels and vidal
united lack quality all around the park its embarrassing. aside from the front three (mata, rooney and RVP), the rest of the team is mediocre at best. no creativity in midfield and a weak defence. its terrible when you hear news that players like wellbeck and ashley young are staying and henandez is leaving. we already sold any rock we might have in defence (evra wouldve been great to control the back three) now we have smalling (sigh).
if united can barely create chances and defend properly against swansea and sunderland, i fear what would happen against city, chelsea, liverpool and arsenal.
I think RVP isnt the same player from 2 seasons ago. Smalling and Jones are unconvincing, Young is a liability as a defender. Cleverley has gone backwards as a player imo. They need Carrick back and at least two world -class defenders.
RVP is still a good player. true he hasn't improved over the last two seasons, but then again, which man united player has?
agree with young being a liability. he cant even play as a winger, having him cover defence as well is asking for trouble.
carrick is a solid player, but he is also not what he used to be. they need a creator in the midfield as well...a xavi/iniesta/ozil type of player. (kagawa isn't clicking with RVP/rooney. and fellaini...ay, who knows what the hell he's doing). we need someone with vision who can find the strikers and put the ball in an advantageous positions for them.
how united got so messed up so quick is horrifying. you would think with all the systems they had in place with youth players and ability to buy quality players with ease has all been shot to hell.
I put a lot of it down to the Fergie factor. Their home form fell off a cliff last season and I know it's early days but the Swansea performance and result points to that being a lingering problem. Imo, a rock-solid defence is the prerequisite for a successful side. Players who are comfortable on the ball and can carry it out of defence. I only hope he can find the players who can up the tempo. Slow build-ups are definitely not in United DNA.
