The nucleus of the team is formed of Malaysian national team players, namely Safiq Rahim, Farizal Marlias, Junior Eldstal, Fadhli Shas and Safee Sali. The appointment of Croatian tactician Bojan Hodak last season saw him mastermind them to their first ever Malaysia Super League (MSL) title.
