Romanian legend Gheorge Hagi has been appointed as the new head coach of Galatasaray.
Turkish powerhouse Galatasaray have appointed former Romania international Gheorge Hagi as the new man in charge at the Istanbul side. The 45-year-old Hagi will sign a contract on Friday before being presented to the press.
Galatasaray were in the market for a new coach because of the departure of Dutch gaffer Frank Rijkaard earlier this week. Rijkaard got the sack in the wake of the club's disappointing start to the 2010-11 campaign.
Cim Bom had initially set their sights on Fatih Terim for the vacant position of head coach, but the experienced coach turned down an offer, thus prompting Galatasaray to turn their attention elsewhere.
