Franz Beckenbauer believes that Bayern Munich are not good enough to win the Bundesliga, and tipped Dortmund to win the German league.
Germany legend Franz Beckenbauer has slammed his former club Bayern Munich for lacking the quality to become the Bundesliga champions. The former sweeper cited the Bavarians' performance in Saturday's 1-1 draw with Leverkusen as evidence.
"They made mistakes like in playschool," he said, according to Soccernet. "They are not good enough to win the league like this."
On the other hand, Beckenbauer feels that current leaders Dortmund are runaway favourites to win the title.
"They are simply in another league at the moment. They are light years away from the rest."
Bayern coach Louis van Gaal was less critical, citing that his side had gone nine games without defeat. However, even he admitted: "Dortmund certainly have the best chance."
Bayern are currently eighth in the Bundesliga table, 14 points behind leaders Dortmund.
Harsh thing to say IMO
