I was starting to remember stupid and shocking happenings made by footballers:
Cantona's karate kick:
On 27 January 1995, Manchester United's Eric Cantona was banned from playing football and fined £20,000 for a kung fu-style attack on a fan.
The club relegated Cantona to the bench for nine months for lashing out at Matthew Simmons at a Crystal Palace game two days previously.
Looking trough your memories there will be a lot of stupid moves made by footballers on and off field.
This blog is made for a deep trough our memories. I expect you dont all agree in the behavior!
Please share yours!
I just loved Cantona more after this attack. He never said he was sorry- and I am sure he wasnt either.
Worst memory I have is from the World Cup in 1986, England vs Argentina, and Maradona uses his hand to give Argentina the victory 2-1. After the game he tells the world it was "the hand of GOD" What an idiot!
Cantona had the french temper!
This years world cup the French players boycotted a training session in protest at the exclusion from the squad of striker Nicolas Anelka after he clashed with Domenech at half-time of their 2-0 loss to Mexico.
Well, Anelka said to Domenech according to L'Equipe: "Go to hell, you son of a bitch!" I find the French squad from 2010 pretty stupid!!!
I have many good and shocking football moments from my early childhood, fortunately, most good, but my first shocking experience was during my first football WC 1982 in Spain;
In the World Cup semi-final between France and Germany. The German goalkeeper Harald Schumacher came rushing out at full speed against Battiston. Battiston was hit with a tremendous force of the goalkeeper.The Frenchman lost a few teeth and was carried unconscious from the pitch. Not a nice sight for a little boy.
When Zidane butted his Italian rival Materazzi in the chest.
Cantona is learning from Bruce Lee himself ;)
