'In situations like these, there could be a red card, the player gets sent off(gets 1-3 game suspension) and there would be a penalty BUT the team could still play with 11 players after some "penalty" time and bring on a substitute or something.'
This wouldn't work, players would be more likely to bring a player down on purpose if he was in a goal scoring position knowing he could be replaced should he be sent off.
Like Roy Keane said, intentional or not it was dangerous play. I don't envy the ref, seeing that challenge in open play no doubt looked like Bruce Lee had come on to challenege for the ball.
Still, there's no doubt the card changed the game but thats football for you i guess.
Am I the only person who would actually like to elbow CR in the face? Was a beautiful moment, for anyone who wants to see the elbow again its on the tube right here:

Failing to see what the idea is behind this, its not like the money saved by the clubs will be passed onto the supporters...their main source of income.
Instead it will just line the board of directors wallets.
Did I miss the part where the ref gave Messi/Argentina a load of ridiculous refereeing decisions or is this exactly what it looks like? A f*cking photograph...
Mmmm should be ok, just watched it again when I saw your post. Just google 'David Camerons take on Twitter' and you'll find it.
In a nutshell 'Too many tweets make you a twat'
David Cameron's take on Twitter:

And this coming from someone who most people consider to be a twat. I actually agree with him though.
Don't think it will happen myself, will ruin the flow of the game.
In rugby it works, play is often stopped due to the nature of the game and the referee actually has some level of respect. He decides when to call for a replay of the action and talking sh*t to the ref demanding a look at the replay will just result in you being sent off.
In football, you would have players swarming the ref squealing like lil piggies every time the ball goes near a touchli...
@flunkinmonkey
hurhur, i see what you did there... :D
As much as I agree with goal line technology i think it would be a bad idea to some extent.
If they go ahead with that, then camera replays will eventually be expected of the game itself. Due to the amount of players that go down because they've been sneezed on the flow of the game will be ruined.
Its the only sport that over-runs with several minutes of extra time due to players rolling about like they've been struck by lightening from an ankle tap, ...
'the stadium was built on top of a graveyard, so who know?'
Haha, sounds like the plot from Poltergeist:
