Good match. Sevilla could've (should've) won it in the second half.
City need to do much better if they're gonna beat Man Utd in the semis
See? I called it after the League Cup Final. I said their season ended with that loss and I was dead right. It's been 5 years since I started supporting Arsenal and all I've known is pain. I've never seen them win anything more than a wooden spoon. How long are they gonna keep tearing me apart like this?
*sigh*
they produce a lot of talent that is always snapped up by bigger clubs. Affelay to Barca for example.
It says a lot to me that Almunia, widely regarded by everyone, their dog and their dog's puppies (myself included), as the worst Premier League goalkeeper in a long while can not only singlehandedly keep the scoreline from almost reaching double figures, but deliver an honest assessment of the way his team played and be 100% right.
And another thing, Suarez is cup-tied, so he can't ever play for Liverpool in this season's Europa League.
yeah, but they didn't have Gerrard and Suarez, both being replaced by Spearing and Poulsen so there was that lack of creativity. Second half when Carroll came on Liverpool were much better.
Spartak very much have their goalkeeper to thank for this. He was immense.
Actually, I think its British, in which case I think its Celtic in CL qualifying.
Shows you how terrible things are over at Juventus now since Gianluigi Buffon is worth only £17m now.
Now Braga have beaten the last 3 English teams they've played at home.
do they know any other way in a European fixture?
For your sake and the sanity of your fans, you damn well better. I thought you were supposed to have learned from last year.
-_-
after today's big win, he's definitely staying on.
Because Arsenal players panic and mentally freeze when they see someone rushing toward them. At no point did they have less than 3 players doing so throughout the whole match. They're a bunch of weak, timid wimps who don't like getting knocked on their a$$.
/end rant
Sorry, had to get that out of my system. It's not good to keep poison in your body, that's why you poo and pee. :)
I guess they don't come up against real qua...
Maybe. Whatever match-ups have history behind them or seem the most attractive on paper is what you're gonna get:
Barcelona vs. Manchester United
Tottenham vs. Shakhtar Donetsk
Chelsea vs. Real Madrid
Schalke 04 vs. Bayern Munchen/Inter
Man Utd, Chelsea and Real Madrid are going through, absolutely no question about that, so, at most, switch Schalke with Man Utd, then Schalke with Chelsea. Tottenham is absolutely getting Shakhtar n...
They'll certainly be a HELL of a lot better than Arsenal were. A few seasons ago Schalke almost matched Barca play for play with only close 1-0 losses in the two legs, goals that Barca had to basically scrape over the line.
Might be different this time around, since Barca is better now than the last time they met, but you never know. Schalke seem to be liking the CL this season.
Just like I said, Schalke are not afraid of Spanish teams.
of all the players on the pitch, Fabregas was the absolute last person in the team I'd expect that from.
No use thinking about such an impossible thing. Plus, unless he teaches them how to ride a two-footed sliding tackle, injuries will worsen in direct proportion to the increased degree to which the tackles are criminally "mistimed".
