Too true, I don't know what Martino was thinking playing Messi out wide and Fabregas through the middle.
It's hardly a revelation that Messi doesn't run much. As talented as he is, he's been like this almost always, definitely more so since Martino took over. It's cringe worthy at times seeing the nine outfield players of Barcelona running their legs off for the team and then Messi just taking a leisurely stroll only ever coming to life when he wants the ball. Hopefully whoever Barcelona get to replace Martino, will force Messi to actually work for the team.
Sorry but Hazard is on a different level to Sturridge. In a few years Hazard will be one of the world's best, I doubt Sturridge will ever be on that level.
I think someone is sniffing around for a new 300k contract.
Spain are still very much considered contenders and for a very good reason, they have quality throughout their squad. They also have the added advantage of being one of the few major European teams where the players will be used to the heat.
Personally I think Brazil will win it but to rule Spain out is pretty silly.
At the end of the day, anybody who comes in and goes directly against fan's wishes in favour of profit in such a direct way, will always be seen as a villain especially when the fans are like Cardiff fans.
I think the rule should stay but goalkeepers should potentially be exempt from it. Defenders have a small amount of options usually in last man situations and when they run out of options, if they still bring someone down it's usually blatantly deliberate in which case they deserve to be shown red. Keepers on the other hand have to react and put themselves in that situation where it's unavoidable. Szczesny was reckless but can sympathize with him for being sent off because he simply d...
Funny really, I always thought Newcastle would be a sound buy for someone looking to buy an English club. Unlike most of the major cities, they only have one football club and the Geordies are extremely passionate people. Regardless, I doubt he could do a worse job than Ashley, it saddens me to see a club with such support to be owned by such a guy.
The way Hazard plays reminds me a lot of Messi. He has the same sort of effortless style that makes taking the ball around players look so easy. I joked when he first came to Chelsea thinking he was overrated but he has really came into his own this season and if he continues with the way he is going, it's only a matter of time before his name is mentioned in the same sentences as Messi and Ronaldo.
Too true, it's an award for the best player and that Ribery is not. Everytime I watch Ribery I see a player who is obviously very talented but he's not even on the same level as the likes of Messi and Ronaldo. In fact, he's not even top 5.
Well I guess with the way Hodgeson has England playing, that's probably the right level of opposition tbh. I can't wait for the world cup to be over and this guy goes back to managing teams struggling to avoid relegation where he belongs.
If Xavi didn't deserve it the year Spain won the world cup, what claim does Ribery have now? I honestly don't watch enough German football to have an accurate opinion of Ribery but the times I've seen him play, he plays with the confidence of someone on top of his game and is an exciting player but Ronaldo, Messi are on a completely different level.
Him at Arsenal with their midfield playing behind him would be very scary. Would be a fantastic move for him though, this is a team that made Adebayor look special after all.
Football is so competitive these days that you can't really blame players for doing it. I bet a lot of managers/coaches actually have a go at players if they see a missed opportunity to go to ground. Blame Fifa and that dinosaur Blatter for refusing to bring in video technology and implementing harsher punishments for those found guilty. If someone is caught diving and it's blatant enough, it should be an instant three match ban imho.. diving is an embarrassment to the sport.
Only ones crying at the moment are Utd fans. Ever since Fergie and David Gill left, the replacements have dragged Man Utd's reputation in the mud. Their transfer market dealings were disgraceful and to now hear they tried to hijack the Bale deal? There was a reason Utd were offered Ozil before Arsenal, because they have a great business relationship with Madrid.. way to go burn that bridge. Then Moyes coming out in the prematch conference saying to expect more games like the Manchester de...
If you add inflation, Ronaldo still cost more. I rate Bale and think he's a quality player and just what Madrid needed after Barcelona signed Neymar. Still, he doesn't deserve the title of world's most expensive player.
An inquest done by the two losers responsible.. well that makes about as much logical sense as buying Fellaini for 27.5m
Yeah, I wouldn't mind seeing Luke Shaw at utd and it would give him a few years to learn from the likes of Evra and Ferdinand.
A few papers have been reporting that Madrid are looking to offload Ozil to cover some of the costs of the Bale transfer. Would love to see him at OT but think it would take a while for him to adjust to the intensity of the English game. He lacks stamina and was subbed in almost 100% of his games under Mourinho.
Hope this turns out to be fake. Fellani and Baines just won't offer enough at utd to justify 35m+ imho.
Is this really a good idea? I mean sure he's past his best but I still think he has one more good year in him. With Vidic leaving and possibly Evra, it's going to have a huge impact on the team.. with Rio going also, there is absolutely no defenders left with the influence and experience to lead our backline or do we entrust that responsibility to some new players we haven't even signed yet? Neither Smalling, Jones or Evans are capable leaders, Rafael isn't even worth mentioni...
