He shouldn't really publicly state he's unhappy but further pissing off your star player isn't probably the way forward. If it really is contract envy as to why he is unhappy then WOW.. the guy probably makes more than all of them anyway.. not only is he the star player of the biggest club in the world, he's also good looking which instantly makes him worth a ton on sponsors more so than the rest who earn more than him.

On his day, Nani is one of the best players in prem.. sadly he's just far too inconsistent.

Xabi Alonso is the world's best all round player. Messi is a fantastic player who can dribble, score and pass all equally at the highest level there is but Xabi Alonso is a more well rounded player.

I was worried for a second but then they said he's considered the next Jonny Evans and stopped caring.

I think he means that Ronaldo should be the one to get a grip for airing his dirty laundry in public.

Doesn't really prove anything tbh. Having said though, anyone who believe the papers are just naive morons. The media are just capitalizing on a juicy story by spewing BS...everytime anyone has a reason to believe a big name is unhappy, they're going to talk about how the clubs with the sugar daddies are going to be splashing their cash.

Tbh he is probably annoyed of constantly being compared to Messi. Wherever he goes, if crowds want to shout abuse at him, it's just easier for them to chant "Messi Messi Messi Messi" as they do.

Now I don't claim to know what he is really like but the public perception of him is that he's a self centered egomaniac and if there is any truth to that, it's gotta be a real pain to constantly hearing Messi's name in your ear.

If he moved back to utd, the deal would pay for itself. I think it took Madrid less than a year to make back the 82m or whatever they paid for him in merchandise and shirt sales. If he went back to utd, it'd be similar. Whether they can afford his wage demands alongside the amount they are paying Rooney and Van P is another question. With a bit of luck they can do a exchange deal to get rid of fatty or something.

The guy is 20 years old.. I think almost any 20 year old earning his sort of money would go a bit nuts. Not to mention the amount of pressure he has to deal with at his age.. let the kid let off some steam.

I wonder if it has anything to do with Spanish football fan's mentality? I remember reading in Four Four Two in the Salgado column that in Spain, anyone over 30 is considered past it. Maybe Madrid weren't showing him enough respect in his contract extension? He's still got a few years in him, wouldn't even be surprised if someone like Mancini makes a last ditch bid for him.

Agreed, RDM has had rode his luck so much since joining.. the Barcelona and Bayern games were great examples of them getting lucky.

Also just have to look at their goals against City, while they had a few half chances, they had two good chances and scored both. On so many other days in games like that, they wouldn't score at all. Same with the Barcelona and Bayern games, took their only major chances.

One thing this match has proven to me.. utd need a new penalty taker and it can't be Ashley Young! Seriously, Rooney sucks at penalties. Give it to someone who isn't English.

Reading the daily mail and writing a news report based on it.. sorry Mr article writer you're doing it wrong.. not to mention Daily Mail is the worst newspaper in the UK with it's overly sensationalized BS.

I thought they had finished off paying for the stadium.

What happened to all of the funds from the Fabregas and Nasri sales? It's funny how the chairman keeps saying they can't compete in the transfer market despite the fact they are one of the highest earning clubs in the world.. add the fact that they had a good 50m in sales most of which largely went unspent and now they need to sell further to make room for transfers? Something clearly isn't adding up here.

Szcezesny eyeing trophies? I guess city are on the look out for a number 2 for Joe Hart then and once again looking to dip into their unofficial youth team.

Face discipline for defending her team from some former pro who wants to be a journo? What an absolute joke that would have been.

I'm calling BS on this.. why on Earth would Barce want to sign this own goal machine? Never rated Koscielny.

The poor guy felt cheated by the chairman anyway last year so can't say I'm surprised. With the way Levy treated Redknapp, I say good on Modric.
