He's one of the few owners who actually has a passion for the sport, and wants to win not just for money and trophies, but to build a legacy.

I just wish he wasn't so trigger happy with the managerial role (ancelotti comes to mind)

Lost some depth with Meireles leaving, but maybe RDM will actually start playing Romeu more now.

If Torres fails to impress this season, Abramovich would definitely put out quite a large bid for Falcao (or some other big name striker). I highly doubt he would just stand idly by and watch one our main competitors buy one of our most sought-after player.

I would go ahead and say it's actually quite the opposite.

Same here haha

I read a couple days ago that Zenith were also supposedly bidding 50 million on Hulk.

So much money on two players (if true)

I forget, wasn't there an article like a week or two ago about something like this? A Ronaldo love triangle I think?

I agree with you on everything except for what you said about Mata and Lampard.
Lampard may older, but he still brings a solid performance every game.
Mata (and now Hazard too) is the engine of Chelsea. He may have not been exceptional for us the last few games, but he was still a great help for us, providing many a ball to Torres. He's just in a little bit of a slump at the moment.

@karim

John Terry is like the glue that keeps the defense intact. There's also a serious lack of organization in there without Terry.

Luiz also likes to make runs up the pitch a lot. Against weaker teams it may help out a bit, but against Atletico, it just doesn't work. We were always caught on the counter against them, and it also doesn't help when there's big gaps in the defense...

It was a wake up call. We'll go in to games more cautiously, that's for sure.

Then again, it's not every day we go up against a striker of Falcao's calibre.

El Nino and El Tigre!? Dream come true

You guys should do fine. You've got a good team even though VanPersie left, so I don't see Arsenal finishing outside the top 4

Man that must be a real blow considering how good he got. I don't know much about liverpool's past, but I keep hearing how bad the old owners were.

As we clearly saw last year, ranking in the league does not show how they'll perform in Europe. City and United were the best in The EPL, yet city and united played like crap in Europe. Chelsea were 6th in England and they were champions of Europe

I expect quite a few bids to be made for him, considering its the last day and his recent performances (2 hat tricks in 2 games!!)

Chelsea's defense was piss poor on this occasion, and Atletico's attack was fantastic. It's apparent how bad terry was needed. Luiz is too inconsistent, I swear I go through a mini heart attack every time he goes for a tackle.

Atletico played a great game and got a well deserved win. Falcao is sooo good!

Why the disagrees? If Cisse getting an amazing goal means a goal against us then so be it (as long as Chelsea still win lol)

Chelsea won't underestimate Newcastle this time. I think now that the element of surprise is gone, Chelsea will have a slight edge (Hazard and Oscar playing will also help of course). I expect Chelsea to win this, but not by much. 2-1 or 3-2 for Chelsea.

I'm not home and my iPhone is being stupid so I can't watch the videos. But apparently Valdes screwed up big time. What exactly did he do?

4268d ago 1 agree0 disagreeView comment

Yes and no. The first Reading goal was great. The second one was a stupid mistake on Cech's part.

Chelsea played a great first twenty minutes, but once the reading goals came in, they seemed shell-shocked (as did the fans). Until Cahill's goal around the 70 minute mark, it was pretty even. Then after Cahill's goal they started to get back in the game.

Chelsea with 72% possession could have done a lot more, considering how much Reading did...
