Teams have figured Barcelona out, get men behind the ball and counter attack. Barcelona have no plan B and have forgotten how to do the simple things, you have to take chances in football Barcelona don't, if anything is even remotely 'risky' they just pass it around in midfield some more waiting for an opening.
Granted not every team can do what Chelsea/Celtic/Milan have done but most Champions League teams possess the quality to do it consistently.
Celtic gave it a good go but you can't make errors like they did and get away with at the top level like you can in the SPL.
It's a shame that the tie is all but over after the 1st leg but you could say it was naive of Celtic to be attacking like they were, a 1-0 loss at home wouldn't have been insurmountable.
I expect most of QPR's signings will be on their bikes when they get relegated, no will to win, no passion to stay up... that's what you get for tearing a promotion winning team apart and trying to buy success.
The relegation battle has always been my favourite part of the Premier League, it regularly goes down to the last day and more is on the line for these clubs than winning a piece of metal.
Pretty big words from a guy who missed an open net TWICE from 5 yards, get back to playing in Brazil against mug defenses and take all of the hype back with you.
Le Fondre is class, get him in the England team ASAP.
They have 11 points more than they did at the same point last season
"The theory goes that the Real Madrid and Barcelona have more influence over referees as a result of their prominence in the media. If referees make a mistake that goes against one of the big two, then a widely read partisan media will crucify them the next day."
Yes, it's the same story with Manchester United, the officials are terrified of Alex Ferguson slating them in the media because whatever he says he is gospel... like when RvP got a football kicked aga...
It'll be interesting to see how he gets on there.
Like I heard it said yesterday, did Pep make Barcelona or did Barcelona make Pep? they appear to be doing better than ever this season without him.
Not surprising why would he go to the English Premier League where there is intense competition? better for him to move to another 2 teams dominating league and the worst he can do is 2nd place.
As I heard it said yesterday, did Pep make Barcelona or did barcelona make Pep? they appear to be doing better than ever without him this season.
The heart of the team that got promoted was ripped out and all that's left is an unbalanced team of charlatans, you need a team of players playing for their future to stand a chance of escaping relegation, half of the QPR team won't care one bit if they go down because they'll have release clauses.
Madness, unless Roman buys the entire Barcelona team they aren't going to play as good as them. A conductor is only as good as his orchestra.
Barcelona have made their best ever start to a season without Pep.
Arsenal should have got Berbatov as part of the RvP deal.
Where does this leave Torres? will Chelsea try to get rid? I think they've given him more than enough time to find his form he's just not the same ruthless striker Liverpool once had.
I don't think he will be around long enough unless Liverpool drastically improve over the coming months, can see him being on many a teams shopping list come the summer if he carries on doing what he is doing.
Newcastles defense was an utter shambles yesterday, then again Premier League teams have all defended shambolically for about 2 years now.
He got a yellow card for doing it, what more do you want? you'd think Williams had kicked him in the back of the head the way SAF and the media have banged on about this incident.
If RvP could really have been killed by a football hitting him then we had better look into adopting NFL style body protection, we don't need to though because SAF and the media are just talking out of their backsides.
Back post cross for me, RvP was already making the making the run before he hit it.
Most of the City team will be laughing when Rooney becomes a fat & bald has-been, if he isn't already.
As long as he finishes top four they won't care if he wins any trophies, it's all about the Champions League money.
