Football is football and anything can happen. It would hardly surprise me if Bayern beat Madrid or the other way around. However Bayern would definitely be favourites going in to the match
It's not about instant success, it's about losing at home to Newcastle and West Brom amongst others.
Moyes I don't think is good enough, I mean to start Young and Jones who were both just back from injury over Kagawa (who had his best match vs Swansea last week) and Fletcher who has been excellent was just idiotic, I wouldn't play a fully fit Ashley Young let alone one back from injury. As it was, Jones' mistake led to the first goal and it was all downhill from there. They need signings but tbh who would go to Utd now? which top player could they get (that wouldn't be entice...
I don't support Utd and I do find your failing season hilarious, I just can't stand other glory hunters like Liverpool fans spouting off because they have won even less than Utd this season, if they don't make 4th place then Suarez leaves.
The comments section is becoming very tribal, imagine the fans who threw things at Walcott, now imagine them in comment form.
Sahil gets 3 likes for denigrating a cup (not the best cup admittedly) but that was m...
@Sahil- that's the point genius, they've already won something no matter how insignificant it is, what have Liverpool won?
@Kingpin- True there are bargains to be had and good players out there, but Utd wont be getting any stellar names that's for sure unless they pull a Man City and give humongous contracts. There is value in January though unlike Moyes says, Coutinho, Sturridge, Suarez all came in January so did Vidic and Evra
At the end of the day Arsenal, Chelsea along with Liverpool could win nothing, Utd have the community shield! the big blow would not be finishing fourth, I think they'll spend big in Jan because lets face it Moyes and some of the players are out of their depth here but who'd want to join this sinking ship? very interesting season
Hardly clutching at straws, just not being biased. I don't support even support Utd but that doesn't mean I have to hate them or be biased against them. Them seeing the dodgy side of refereeing has nothing to do with anything, the point was that they should have won because they played better than Spurs, simple
Lloris also should have been sent off though, clearly fouled Young recklessly and within the first 15 minutes superman punched the ball when he was outside the box (initial contact with ball was while he was inside but as he pushed it his hands were outside)
Haha the one game they actually dominated in they lost, football for ya. Unfortunately all the possession was wasted by poor players, relying on an 18 year old to be the most creative player is embarrassing. Having said that they really should have won that match anyway they had enough chances, 9 times out of 10 if they play like that they would win imo.
3, Athletico. Either way I know you're saying Madrid, Barca and Athletico vs Man Utd, City, Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool, Spurs. Didn't Bale leave, Ronaldo, Fabregas, Mascherano, Alonso, Suarez maybe?
But in terms of pulling power yes the premier league wins because of the money they can offer, no one bar Madrid and Barca can manage the wages that even the lower premier league teams offer. Nonetheless in terms of players and teams, the quality of Spain is higher, that's my ...
People need to learn the difference between strongest and most competitive, the premier league is and has been the most competitive for a long time but if you matched all of La Liga's teams vs ours by position then I think La Liga would be ahead by around 3-5 matches, it's not much and the gap is closing because of teams like Southampton that can spend big but Spain definitely has more quality players and teams atm. Now Germany has a woeful league but two of the best teams in the worl...
To be honest having watched the two losses Man Utd should have won both, the difference is under Fergie they would have taken all the chances and won the penalty when Anita hand balled it on the line, even if they went behind under Fergie they would have chances to pull it back whereas under Moyes once they go behind everyone knows the result is done. I have never in my life seen a manager so bad at making substations, in pretty much every match where they've dropped points it's usual...
I agree with you, England aren't that bad I expect us to qualify honestly. Uruguay can be beaten and we've shown we can at least draw with Italy, I expect us to progress in second place.
Btw how good is Deleufeo? why did Barca loan him out?
Yeah people were stupid to judge him when he wasn't fully fit and hadn't had a proper pre season. I have no doubts he will continue with this form, (no offence to the Spanish league, it's more technical but so easy to score in, ask Soldado :P)
Hell even Man Utd won without RVP, Carrick, Rafael, Vidic.
I'm gonna be in a minority of one but I love the diving, cheating, goal line and all other controversies. Football is great but those moments in a match give us something to talk about, of course special goals and skills also do but how often do they happen? Hell, the thing we're commenting on now wouldn't even be here as Desailly would never have to make those comments.
It's incredibly dumb, not everyone is Messi or Ronaldo. Walcott is a good player and very important to Arsenal. He got 14 goals and 13 assists in the league last year, scored vs Utd, Spurs etc. Your claim of does best against of lower tier clubs is incredibly dumb too, surely the majority of players do better against the worst teams? isn't that just common logic?
Get rid of Walcott? that is so dumb. Agree that they probably need another quality striker because Giroud will need a rest soon or could get injured. Between Arsenal and City for me this year
@Imtiyaz, do you mean last year? or this? because their away form isn't solely down to him, the team just doesn't really play well. E.g the loss against Sunderland when Hart wasn't playing
Klopp's a smart guy, for all we know he's probably thinking that Dortmund have more chance to beat Madrid (as they did comfortably last year) than they have of beating Bayern, so maybe he's trying to give Madrid a reason to try extra hard to try and get rid of Bayern. I can't remember if it's possible for Madrid and Bayern to face each other before the final
