Thanks @Stringerbell, and it seems more strings to my bow. The arrogant makes me sick, so happy for PSG, Blanc and Luiz for shutting up Jose, Chelsea and the laughable media in this country.

"teams like Real, Barca, PSG, Bayern, etc. having a complete strangle hold on their leagues; Atletico last year was a very rare exception, which was great." - Forgetting the fact that 4 teams have won La Liga in the last 10 years just like the Premier League.

PSG don't have a stranglehold, winning two years after getting money isn't uncommon, look at Chelsea! They aren't leading this Ligue at the moment.

Bayern looking good for it. Favourites with Madrid no doubt, be interesting if they draw each other in the next round. Could be murder with Madrid on the ropes. If they draw each other later on though, maybe Madrid will bounce back and produce something like last year against them.

I do love the Champions League!

1st 2 preventable, other 2 he had no chance. Look at the space the Madrid players gave Schalke for the 3rd, you can see Casillas didn't see it until it practically passed him too. 4th was world class, no keeper would save that.

Out of the defensive side of the team; Arbeloa, Coentrao & Khedira aren't regulars, bench warmers all season and Pepe is trash. Have these 5 (Varane included) played any games together this year, not that I can think of. No communication, e...

Exactly, Bilbao have been fighting for Copas and Europa League titles in recent years, and just like any league, no game is a given or easy.

A mini-crisis it seems to be, more to do with attitudes than anything though. Heart to heart between players and coaches, returning key players + strong showing against Levante should steady the ship.

On topic;
Really poor on the night. Defence completely off the boil from minute one. The midfield almost as worse...

Sure, when people and the media stop bigging it up as the best league with the best teams. Until then, I'll happily laugh and call out this washed-up league filled with money clubs and totally vacant of world class quality.

The Premier League is sitting well below La Liga and Bundesliga now. I'd take the Italian top sides over it and French league has more to show in Europe this season too, insane!

La Liga > Bundesliga >>>>>>> ...

And the Prem's embarrassment is complete. BBC in November was talking about an undefeated season. In January, the British media was saying this side could be the 1st Quadruple team. Now what? Tin-potters!

The "Premier League is rubbish"... Only Chelsea realistically left in the Champions League and Everton in Europa League.

2 English clubs in both competitions. Chelsea if they beat PSG.
2 French clubs in both. PSG if they beat Chelsea.
4 German clubs in both. Dortmund still has a chance & Bayer against Atléti.
5 Spanish clubs still in both. Atléti if they beat Bayer.
6 Italian clubs still in both.

So Prem...

Monaco only scored 4 goals in the group stage, 3 away goals tonight against Arsenal! Monaco aren't a last 8 quality side, then again, neither is Arsenal.

So only Chelsea realistically left representing England... Shambolic indeed.

Nice win for Bayer but Atléti can easily overturn this result at home.

Barca let City off the hook, regardless of the penalty miss. Should've been out of sight in the 1st half.

It really is threatening how far La Liga is ahead of Prem teams now, more so than ever. Been saying it for years, becomes ever so more obvious after games like this.

Real were terrible, pathetic, every one of them. No arguments from me. Congrats to Atléti.

1st I'd like to say, I'm from the city of Bradford and my social media blow up. I missed the game for various reasons, mainly hanging out with friends.

Anyway... Jose should be embarrassed. This defeat is way bigger than 5-0 at Nou Camp all those years ago. More tragic is how he clearly had a pop at Carlo / Madrid after being dumped out of the Cop del Rey last week.

He talked about "feeling disgraced" if Chelsea was eliminated, "big tea...

Pretty sure this includes United's Adidas deal, GM deal and more TV revenue deal.
I really doubt it includes Real's new IPIC deal and Mircosoft deal.
Furthermore, who knows what Real have in the pipeline? Nike could make a similar offer to Real like United got from Adidas. Adidas may be forced into offering Real the same because rivals want Real, who wouldn't.

Additionally, it just seems impossible that United would gain so much with nothing to sho...

If you want to run by United official financial report, they have £24m in operating income, if the Glazer's didn't already take it.

"Profit for the year, £23.835m... Attributable to:
Owners of the parent (Glazer Family)."

So the money to get Bale would add to the debt that is estimated; dependant on the source you use of either £400m or £700m. Great!

Using BBC, the GM deal is already factored in ...

Sure they could, if they want to wipe out half their annual budget in doing so. They've spent north of £150m already and Bale would be another £100m at the very best price.

United only make £350m revenue in 2013/14, probably next to nothing after paying taxes, debts and the owners taking their piece of the pie.

This rumour is so laughable. He's been at Madrid for like 16 months and is probably the 2nd most important attacking player after Ronaldo himself.

United can't afford Bale and better yet, Madrid won't sell him. They won't sell him for anything less than £100m.

Home would be Atleti not Liverpool, which is the more likely choice to as they're dropping plenty of hints.

3416d ago 0 agree0 disagreeView comment

Can't see Madrid getting rid though. He's in the form of his life and has influential people like Zidane supporting him at the club.

Out of those 3 mentioned, only Aguero is likely, youngest and most talented.

And if rumours are to be believed, Madrid can't afford another Galactico, they have to pay around $250m in debts in the next calendar year, half of the believed club debt. Although and doubt it's that high.

Madrid will w...

He won't leave for Liverpool, Chelsea or anyone for that matter. Why the heck will he leave the best team in the world right now? 21 wins in a row, holders and favourites for this year's UCL?

Please be serious, Liverpool can't afford him nor his wages and Chelsea don't need him nor will Madrid sell him.
